Content evidence register
Log every material claim with its source, evidence grade, check date and next review, so rule changes do not leave old pages wrong.

An editorial refresh is a scheduled re-check of the claims most likely to go out of date: rules, bonus terms, licensing status and safer-gambling information. The checklist records the claim, the primary source, the date verified, the action and who approved it, so each refresh leaves a trail.
Google's byline date guidance asks for a labeled visible date such as "Published" or "Last updated", matching the datePublished and dateModified values in structured data. Its helpful content guidance warns against "changing the date of pages to make them seem fresh when the content has not substantially changed." The two together give a simple rule: the check date lives in your register, and the updated date on the page moves only when readers would notice the change.
Set the cadence by risk, not by page count. Pages that state rules, bonus terms, market availability or helplines need the shortest cycle, and they also need an unscheduled check whenever a regulator in that market publishes a change. Evergreen explainers on how a game works can wait longer. Record the cadence for each page in the refresh register so the next check has a date and an owner.
| Page type | Suggested check | Also check when |
|---|---|---|
| Compliance and rules pages | Every quarter | A regulator or advertising body publishes a change |
| Bonus and offer explainers | Every quarter | Terms or bonus rules change in that market |
| Safer-gambling and help pages | Every quarter | A helpline or self-exclusion scheme changes |
| Game and betting explainers | Twice a year | A reader reports an error |
Pages stating rules or bonus terms should be checked monthly and whenever a regulator announces a change. Evergreen explainers can be checked yearly.
No. Record the check in your register, and change the visible updated date only when the content substantially changes.
Checked October 25, 2026. Rules and documentation change; the official source prevails over this summary.
